Mantic Point claims up to a 30 per cent customer redemption rate on mobile advertising campaigns

Direct advertising is alive and well and living in your mobile phone

Innovative mobile content provider, Mantic Point, is flying in the face of the current global downturn in advertising revenues and says its business model is achieving unprecedented sales conversion rates for its clients.

Mantic Point helps travel companies keep in touch with their customers by providing holidaymakers and business travellers with personalised travel information, assistance and offers through their mobile phones while they are on the move.

According to Mike Atherton, Managing Director of Mantic Point one retailer has generated in excess of €3 million of incremental business from advertising via mobile phone to travellers when they are at the airport.

Another partner saw a 50 per cent increase in average transaction value by implementing mobile vouchers.

Over 90 per cent of travellers are happy to opt-in for services that are funded or supported, in part, by relevant and helpful on-service adverts. Almost 30 per cent of travellers attempt to redeem at least one issued offer.

"A retailer doesn't know who is travelling through the airport. Yet, if they had some way of accessing passengers within their target audience as they arrived at the airport they could effect dramatic changes in footfall and revenue," said Mike Atherton, Managing Director of Mantic Point. "We focus on understanding the traveller and serving the right promotional offer to them, which leads to high redemption rates - because travellers only see relevant advertisements which they're likely to respond to."

"Currently, our solution is up to 15 times more effective than other routes to market such as direct mailings. Our service gives customers the information they want in a way they can use."

Mantic Point, which is part-owned by Rolls Royce, is the only key player to provide a service that is personalised, context aware and multi-channelled.

By using the Mantic Point product world travellers can ensure they get to their departure point bang on time, receive assistance once they have arrived at their destination and even receive weather and traffic updates.
