MANTIC POINT GRANTED PATENT FOR METHODS USED IN ITS FLOW MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE

[22 December 2005 - Leeds] Mantic Point announced today that the UK Patent Office has granted it a patent for methods used in its Chaperone flow management software.

Chaperone combines data from sensory networks (e.g. RFID, barcodes, GPS) and operational systems ... to bridge the gap between what should be happening according to the digital world, and what is really happening in the physical world.

The patent (GB 2410347) relates to Chaperone’s early warning system for time-sensitive processes, and describes a method for managing the progress of groups of entities through a series of physical zones to ensure a business process completes accurately and on-time.

The patent is relevant to many business areas, including:

  • Supply chain (e.g. where an order has to be ready by a certain time, or where service levels exist for receiving goods)
  • Healthcare (e.g. where equipment and people need to be in a certain location at a certain time so a medical procedure can begin)
  • Air travel (e.g. where passengers need to be at the departure gate by a specific time).

Mantic Point expect their intellectual property portfolio to expand over the coming months as they extend the current patent to cover additional territories, and await confirmation that two additional patent applications have been granted.

Notes to the editor:

  • Mantic Point Solutions Limited is a UK-based software company focused on the delivery of real-time flow management and business intelligence applications.
