How does StreamThru work?
With StreamThru, passengers opt-in via the airline booking process or an email invite to receive a mix of:
- Free-to-use information (e.g. gate notifications and flight changes)
- Offers from advertisers
- Offers for chargeable services (e.g. traffic information, upgrades, valet parking, lounge access, connections, and quizzes)
StreamThru uses the itinerary information contained within travel booking data to send relevant information to passengers' mobile phones. Relevant communication is time-sensitive, location-based, and context-aware (e.g. offering valet parking to a business customer who is running late).
Communication options include:
- Option 1 - Send all messages by SMS (as text messages)
- Option 2 - Send alerts and reminders via SMS ... but, include a link in each SMS to a personal, mobile web-site where passengers can access other travel information (flight status, weather at destination, etc) in their own time.
StreamThru centralises customer acquisition for all mobile services and coordinates all mobile communication with passengers to each airlines recency / frequency requirements.
