... Using StreamThru to provide a mobile-web travel concierge service to your passengers while they're on the move.

Exploit your booking data

Your booking data gives you a huge advantage when it comes to delivering a mobile travel experience. Booking data gives you the traveller's itinerary ... and with the itinerary you can deliver a highly personalised experience based on your knowledge of time, location, and context (e.g. where is the traveller located today, how long will they be there, and why are they there?)

Bridge your communications gap

Mobile travel technology helps you bridge the communication gaps that exist between your last email and the passenger boarding their flight and while the passenger is away. Creating a mobile concierge to communicate with the passenger on departure day and while they're away improves the customer experience, creates opportunities for you to sell distressed inventory (e.g. last minute upgrades), and allows you to tap into impulse spending at the destination (e.g. tours, activities).

Provide passengers with relevant information

Using knowledge of time, location and context from your booking data, the mobile-web offers a graphically rich channel to communicate with travellers who are on the move. For example, if you know someone is flying today, you can provide them with a mobile flight information display, traffic details en-route to the airport, and the offer to book their airport transfer.

To fund the service, you can use time, location and context to target relevant ads towards passengers (e.g. for foreign currency transactions, airport food and beverage offers, etc).

Use SMS to trigger the service

To avoid passengers needing to remember or bookmark mobile URLs on departure day the service sends a single SMS message to passenger's with an embedded, personal URL. Clicking on this URL at any time takes them to their personal, mobile concierge. The context of information displayed depends on the stage of their journey (e.g. clicking the link on departure day will show a mobile flight information display, whereas clicking when they're at their destination would pull up their itinerary and destination guide).

Mobile web is still niche

Mobile web is still a niche technology - although new handsets and cheaper data plans mean usage is growing quickly - so we recommend rolling out a mobile-web service in tandem with a pure-SMS based service to provide a service to the maximum number of people.
